Toulon and Mont Faron

On October 3, 2019, three weeks after coming home from our Ireland trip and one week before our departure for North Carolina, I took a train to Toulon for one last 2019 photo excursion with my friend Didier. We met at the train station and Didier drove us to the bottom station of the Mont Faron, cable car. We were there shortly after nine a.m. and found out that our transport didn't open until ten o'clock. No problem! We spent the time talking and admiring the view.

Once at the top, we wandered around, visited the Notre Dame du Faron sanctuary, and tried to check out the small zoo, but as we found out, the animal park is closed every Thursday and, you guessed it, it was Thursday. We took a cable car back down and drove to the old town which we spent some time exploring. We savored lunch at Au sourd, before making our way through a maze of narrow streets to the waterfront. Finally, Didier drove us to the Mourillon beach where we enjoyed a beer before I had to head back to the station. Another fine day spent taking pictures with Didier.

By the way, if you would like to purchase fine art prints of beautiful photographs, I encourage you to take a look at Didier's web site. You will find great images that Didier prints himself with much attention to detail using professional equipment. One of his photos hangs in my office, and it's not as if I didn't have any pictures of my own! If you are looking for great photographs of the South of France you're sure to find something to your liking. Check it out!
