Every month, many people still download desktop photos from this site, even though the three collections of images were posted several years ago. These days, I am more and more drawn to black and white, my first love in photography. For a long time, I thought that digital black and white was too sterile and flat, and that this was one area were the wet lab with its red safety light and smelly chemicals still had an edge. The more I experimented with various techniques and tools, the more I realized that I was wrong. It seemed only natural, then, to add to my collection by posting a dozen black and white desktop images, ten normal ones and two high key shots for those who prefer very light backgrounds.
Clicking on any of the photos on this page causes a larger version (960 x 600) to open in a separate window. This allows taking a closer look at the image and its texture. To obtain an image, simply click the desired size below the caption. This downloads a zipped version of the photo to your computer. I am obviously not zipping the photos to shrink the files; the idea is to force the browser to download the file rather than to display it.
Though I retain all rights to all images, you are hereby authorized to use any of these photos for non-commercial purposes. Enjoy the pictures and feel free to send me your comments.
