2010 Cannes Film Festival

Here are some pictures taken in Cannes during this year's film festival. Rather than attempt to snap celebrities (almost mission impossible unless one is either very lucky or willing to wait in one spot for literally hours), I decided to focus on everything that happens on or around the Croisette during these few days in May. For this, I chose to use the Nikon D300 and only one lens, the Nikkor ƒ1.8 35mm. This is a normal lens for a camera equipped with a DX sensor; it's reasonably fast, but it has a fixed focal length. What does this mean? Simply that you have to zoom with your feet; no simple turning of a zoom ring to move things closer or further away. The pictures on this page were all taken between Thursday, May 13, and Saturday, May 15, 2010. As always, full EXIF information is embedded in each image. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into Cannes during the film festival as much as I enjoyed photographing it!
